Junior is the best turf rider in America, bar none.  He is hugely underrated!

Irad and Prat are almost always on odds on favorites, so they are supposed to win a lot.  Alvarado is usually riding a middle to high priced horse.

John Frank Army thinks he will chime in here. I'ss not following TB'S like i used to. But JR. ain't gettin a lot of live mounts other tham MOTT. But I will agree he a closer. If you got a good horse and you know it can close, why bother bouncin around in pack. Just wait till roundin at outside of strech and then go outside and gun.

I'll say another thin, since talkin about closin jocks. I'm old and the greatest on CHICAGOLAND circuit back in day was Stanly Spencer. God could he close,at HAWTHORNE and BALMORAL. He had a brother, can't member his first name, but he was caught race fixin. And BARRED from RACIN forever. Stanly had nothin to do with it,but because it his brother coild not get mounts anymore in Chicago. Had to take his tack and go to CANADA,where he rode very well until he retired.

Stanley Spencer won with less than 10% of his mounts in his career, and that was mostly riding in Chicago, not exactly a stellar record.  Now the guy that could really close back then in Chicago was Mark Guidry!

Then Mr.BIRTHDATE,JOHN FRANK will relate.
It back in day.before before simulacasting.
ARLINGTON had a pic 8. One had to be on track to make wager. Peoples had connections from other states to make wagers at ARLINGTON.
The pool was up to $870.000. Me and a bud make a $ 48.00 wager. It a dollar bet. Obviously we part wheelin.
WE got it. we 7 of 7 goin into last race. We got the heavy chalk on the grass,GUIDRY. It a 11 horse field. Guidry decides to stalk the one speed. Buy the way: HE was 3-5. So instead at top of stretch were he could swing outside and easily win by 10,he decides to follow the dead speed on rail and on purpose gets boxed in by other horses that now comin up. He did that on purpose and ended up 7th. Know the next day.GUIDRY no show up for his mounts. And he dis=appearred. And that next day it was announced that his AGENT had the only winnin ticket for 1MILLION,200 hundred thousand.
No one could find GUIDRY. They finnally found the STIFFIN FUC 4 months later ,DRUGGED up and DRUNK at some small town bar in remote KENTUCKY.
So much for your CLOSIN HERO.

That was a big story John I remember that.  Guidrey's disappearance made the local papers.  I wish I could find a replay of that race.
