DreamPoint out to him that there was no bond required.If there had been physical contact there would be a zero chance of release without posting bond.My nephew hit his ex-wife's new boyfriend and had to post a $2,500 bond to get out of jail.Charges were eventually dropped since the boyfriend was the aggressor and they got their money back minus court costs which barely covered the cost of his lawyer.
