ANY NUMBER OF MICHIGAN TRAINERS, YES, I SAID MICHIGAN TRAINERS WOULD BE AT THE TOP OF THE LIST. MORE GREAT TROT TRAINERS COME FROM HERE THAN ANYWHERE ELSE.

I'll give you I guy who has made tons of money with little know inexpensive yearlings then sold for huge money after making big money.  Does great trading trotters...Steve smith...

Trotting training while different isn't THAT much different. Does anyone think starting with MILLIONS of dollars worth of trotters helps one become great? How many have to be ruined to make you a Hall of Fame trainer? Usually its around 90%. Horses make the humans, not the other way around.

I love the guys work ethic and his never quit attitude but how many young well bred trotters didnt survive his tough way of working them......just think of the ones that may have been good raceway trotters that never made it because of his need to get them to the track and start earning money...survive or burn....no in between!!
