Does Gural own a horse in the race? To me its a shame that any track owner can own horses with multiple trainers and take a good portion of the purse money from the tracks they are involved with. Saving the track and then using the purse money to pay the rent is just wrong on every level. I guess thats how the rich get richer.

He should not be racing horses at tracks he owns or has an ownership interest in. It is a clear conflict of interest and would not be acceptable in most other industries.

He owns the track and many of the people working there report directly or indirectly to him. You don't see the conflict of interest?

I see your point. And in there was a time I would agree, completely. But, the industry has shrunk so much, it is now very much an insiders game. So, restricting all that may have some advantage or at least the perception of an advantage would contribute to the decline.
