This is not meant as a hate post-its called constructive criticism/debate.
The Yonkers surface is and has been way way too hard-and even more so with the emphasis on gunning horses flat out 1st quarter on a track as hard as the New York Thruway. You can hear the horses hitting the track from the upper grandstand.
Its leading to the demise of racing stock-VERY few horses can survive racing there season after season.
Broken bones, sore feet,"jarred up", bad knees,hocks--are at a higher % there than anywhere else-after you talk to many trainers and see for yourself.
Cortisone injections are rampant-which is why stock gets replaced quickly and Yonkers horses end up on scrap heap.
For the benefit of racing at Yonkers and to protect the horse population racing there--we desperately need more cushion on the track .
Should not need borium ,grabs etc to grab a rock hard track.
