Here are the results from the 8th Race at Scioto Downs on Tuesday, August 31.

It sure seems like someone should look into this.
How many times do I need to explain this?

Before I do, you tell me why you think the Win-Place-Show payouts are ok.

I'll wait but please hurry.

Of course the answer is small pools. a 5 dollar or ten dollar exacta kills the prices. But that would be too logical for this site

These small pools can be so skewed in the payoffs when someone over bets.

Last night at Mohawk 8th race chalks ran 1-2-3-4 in order and here were the payouts:

3    2.50  2.20  3.10
5            2.60  3.50
2                    4.20

I was like how in the hell can that be right?

So I logged on to expressbet where I can see the pools and here was the show pool:
Show Pool Total: $5,171.00
1.) 829
2.) 583
3.) 1,005
4.) 208
5.) 811
6.) 143
7.) 73
8.) 1,515

The #8 was The Captains Angel with Mike Saftic who went off at 99-1! ngc3

Saftic only had $87 to win and $44 to place on him.

So what drunk clown bet the wrong track and bet $1,500 to show on Saftic? 74zac.1

Sometimes, but not often, these mysterious payoffs are a result of inexperienced or careless Sam machine bettors not selecting the right track or being too drunk to notice what track they are playing.

Its possible this was an intentional "dump" pari-mutuel to inflate show prices for some type of offshore wager that pays track odds

back in the day when Beulah Park was open--some guy performed this on occasion there and never missed

That is 100 % correct and has been happening during various periods over the last couple of years, just at much lower levels than Mohawk. Some offshore book allows larger show bets outside the track pools and gets manipulated through the track prices.

Yes--but the guy must have a network of betors/separate accounts

just about all offshore books have limits--i doubt they take over a $200 show bet

also if you keep stinging them--they will terminate your account

might not be offshore--but it mighjt be an old school street bookie taking these bets

I am sure the guy dumping is getting a good rebate on the dead cash

The tri pool had 1 winner, the exacta pool had like 20 tickets...the winner wager was skewed by some moron betting $2000 on the fav.

Is there any offshore place that will let you bet enough on a harness race that chasing $3.10 is worthwhile?

You would need to
1.  Bet $3k just to get back your $1500 dump
2.  Bet another $3k to get to +$1500
3.  Bet enough more to make it all worthwhile for the 1 time out of X wagers you get wiped out.

So, my questions to you

1.  Can you bet $6,000 to show on Mohawk non-parimutuel?
2.  $10,000
3.  If so, where?

Well what you guys say makes sense in that at Mohawk Saftic was a cinch not to be in the money. tmbz1

That horse was bad against this field even for 2 year olds.

Which to me begs another question: Why are you dumping or bridge jumping in a 2 year old race?

Even the good ones can be too unpredictable.

What was the exacta pool at Scioto downs?  I would be surprised if there was $1000 in the whole pool.  Scioto downs has almost no handle.

Three months back offshore bodog wrote me letter
..no more exotic wagering for you..i made about 3700 over three weeks..superfecta s b tracks..midweek miami valley, pompano carryovers among them.....to their credit they paid me out in full..but today they only allow me 10 dollar max on any wp or s...i dont play from here in canada anymore..
And yes live pool manipulation happens to sweeten offshore hit
....but you dont have to go offshore to see' b 'track manipulation...de liberately wrong $500 to $1000 win tickets go down for the many programless numbnuts playing midweek places like monticello so horsemen can take down big tri and super hauls.

how does the win pool dumped cash help the trifecta/superfecta?

you dont make sense here

Someone is manipulating the pools, they are putting money into the show pool on a throw out and betting the logical horse or horses to show offshore, contrary to what the idiots on here will say,it is very smart, they will make money for awhile until they get caught, then they will get banned offshore and stiffed, however they will collect in the meantime and show a nice profit, been going on for years and years
