This sport is so full of inbreds, degenerates who don't pay bills, clowns who show up for winners circle photos in rags and worst of all cheaters, almost across the board, who fill poor horses bodies with so much shit that the animals will never live far beyond their racing days...... and how could anyone be surprised that a guy like Ron Pierce made comments like that. Hell, if the guy did not have hands of gold in the sulky, he would have been serving fries at McDonalds, considering his awesome interview talent over the years . His IQ does not hit triple digits... FACT
A pigIt’s not funny, it’s not ok, and it needs to be acknowledged. It’sbeen almost a week and everyone seems to have moved on fromthe Jug, almost everyone except Wendy Ross. For those thatmissed it, a LIVE interview on the Jug broadcast resulted in RonPierce saying some sexually based derogatory remarks directedat Wendy, which I’m not going to repeat. Again, it’s not funny, it’snot ok, and it needs to be acknowledged. This isn’t going to be a smear campaign against Pierce. I’m notgoing to ask for him to be removed from the Hall Of Fame. I’mnot even going to ask for an apology from Ron. All I want is foreveryone to acknowledge that after he uttered those words, it putWendy in an impossible situation. One she didn’t ask for and onethat will be attached to her career. For the record, Wendy didn’t ask me to write this. She didn’tcomplain to me and she hasn’t said anything public about it thatI know of . . . nor should she. But, think about her options rightnow. She can ignore it and be professional about it, but it sendsthe message that it’s ok for men to behave like that around her. It’s not fair to her, as she is only doing her job. The workplaceshould be safe. End of discussion! She could also publicly go onrecord voicing her displeasure, but that could put her career andlife under a microscope. Again, she never asked for any of this tohappen and it’s unfair that she has to deal with it.That’s why we need others to stand up for her. A start can beto simply acknowledge the behavior was wrong and eliminate it.There is a difference between a work environment, a comedy show,a live broadcast and a private conversation. Some areas have a littlemore wiggle room for offensiveness, but this was not one of them. Her employers at the USTA now have a decision to make, because as I stated before, Ron Pierce is a Hall of Fame Driverwith a laundry list of Championships and accomplishments.Even though he is retired, surely they still use his name forpromotional nostalgia at events throughout the next 10 yearsright? Look how happy everyone was to see him at the Jug!Well, guess who’s part of the team that has to facilitate that? Youguessed it, Wendy. So who does the USTA back now? Do they scrap all contentinvolving Pierce to side with Wendy? Do they scrap Wendy fromany project involving Pierce? Do they force Wendy to choosebetween her career and creating content involving Pierce? Theweird thing is that Ron is retired and only shows up sparinglynowadays. He could never show up at a track and he’d probably beok with it. Wendy lives and breathes harness racing and all thingsUSTA, yet she’s the one who has to make decisions based uponsomething that she didn’t ask for in a supposed safe work environment. It’s not funny, it’s not ok, and it needs to be acknowledged. This can’t just be swept under the rug and expect this to go away.Inappropriate and Pierce's name should be forever removed from any and all records for his verbal sexual abuse. I demand the FBI conduct an investigation into this and all previous incidents. I hope Ms Ross sues and garners damages to reputation and career
I know what all those 10 cent words mean without LOOKING THEM UP. Yet I still tend to LOL when someone farts aloud. Ron Pierce meant NO harm ..he is a hilarious guy with a dry sense of humor. I dont know Wendy but I am sure she wasnt offended at all as 99 percent of women in harness racing are class less anyway.
