Mark is quite aggressive and often pays the price by not having much left coming home. Maybe does not rate a mile as good as he used to. Does well with his own stock, because he goes through alot of horses to find the right ones. Many a horse goes thru his barn, some only make a few starts and then he moves them or sells them. If he keeps them, they race where they can win. Thats why Sardella has made a career on claiming from him. He knows if Mark keeps them for awhile, that they are ok. Mark does the work, and Sardella takes them. Thats the cost of racing them where they belong. If they are not claimers, maybe NW2 or so, he runs them thru the easy conditions at Saratoga and then sells them. There are others who have the same program as him.
