i still cannot wrap my head around the fact that Darren is in the situation he is...IE known as a heavy pre racer/trainer of harness horses.

One summer around 2004 or so I used to go over and help Todd Warren jog some horses now and then.  Todd had his horses at Tanneyhill Farms, which was run by the father Tanneyhill (can't remember his first name-great guy though).  Tanneyhill owned the horses and farm and Todd was the trainer.

Darren the son was probably 14 or so then, nice kid but he showed absolutely zero interest in the horses and had no knowledge (that I could tell) at all about how to train a horse.  So to see him now get in and out of trouble training them, getting suspended, and being known as one of the heavier drug users on the horses is the same to me as if you told me the Pope all of a sudden became a race horse trainer.  It was just so far out of what seemed possible then that never in my wildest dreams did I see that happening.

Now, when he is able to race he is obviously successful doing it and so he must have gained some interest and knowledge in the horses after his father died.

Hope everything works out for him and I wish him all the success in the world.
