This is typical Woodbine.  They'd rather have someone "nice" that is phony and just goes through the robotic motions than someone who has actual experience and an opinion but might offend someone as a result.  It's like that with all of them: Middleton (awful), Portuondo (awful), Rozema (not as bad but thinks he knows more than he actually does), Blanchard (fluff city), Lupul (give me a break) and the list goes on.  I forgot Mike Hamilton and Garnet Barnsdale.
