Burke and hidden ownership.
« on: June 03, 2019, 04:45:35 PM »
Everyone knows that he actually is No Recall stable in Ohio.  Hiding horses in his sisters name to get the Ohio owned preference. Wake up Ohio Racing Commission as the tracks turn  their heads.

Re: Burke total monopolization of sport

Meadows 12 two year olds qualify last week

Gaitway 25 two year olds qualify yesterday

Every track on the East Coast,Ohio,Indiana,New England.......... .....

Meadows and Meadowlands multiple entries per race.........
This is ridiculous .................

I have been in this industry over 55 years and I have never seen anything quite like this
Why would you want to invest in a sport that one man has severely monopolized
Monopolies in a perfect world can be great-as it would benefit everyone by lowering prices, better quality etc-but not if these monopolies then take over and raise prices etc after the little guy has been eliminated..
So In Harness racing -its a HUGE CURSE and SHOULD BE CONTROLLED.
REASON= It allows people like Burke,Surick-to monopolize racing to the point where the whole system fails or at least gets stung. Race Secretaries get hamstrung, have to cater to them to complete cards,Judges cannot enforce the rules-as banning these whales would hurt the Sport.
When they break rules-they get favorable treatment-and in order for Judges to "make themselves look as if doing their job" small trainers will be crucified and made scapegoats.
Burke and Co-can hire the most expensive Lawyers, get the best help, have judges and officials helping them, pay huge Vet Bills ,get the best drivers etc etc-in other words-they skew the system hugely in their favor.Smaller trainers get auto toss drivers-because the top drivers have the Burke account. Burke +Co will claim any horse from a smaller trainer because they cannot compete vs the Burke Brigade-have to use auto toss drivers and see their horse get the preferential treatment when it switches camps.
With no controls in place--greed takes over and Burke +Co are like a Shark eating little fish.
