Why does this excerpt from Milbert's article on Dave McCaffery at HRU matter?

Because it shows how much influence the assholes at Arlington have over the IRB and Mr. Duchebag himself Dick Duchossois has always hated harness racing with a passion.

Why does this matter?

It shows just how far Arlington will go to fuck with Hawthorne and the Carey's.

Case in point: PROGRAMS!

On Friday Hawthorne's otb's had NO Saturday programs! Why, you ask?

Because all Illinois programs are printed in a shop located in the Arlington Park racetrack!

I am not the only Illinois horse player getting really pissed.

Hawthorne's printing was done by another firm that went out of business in February.

Unable to find another company (so I'm told) they are using Arlington's print shop to do their programs.

THIS IS THE BIGGEST CLUSTER FUCK IN ILLINOIS HORSE RACING HISTORY!

Even Hawthorne race track itself can't get simulcast programs until the morning of that day's races.

Arlington Park is fucking with Hawthorne again just like they have done for years.

More evidence that the IRB and horse racing in general doesn't care about it's core players or casual fans.

I tried printing from my Track Master account.

10 and 12 pp formats need anywhere from 30-50 pages to print.

6 line format is better but doesn't zoom to fill the page the way a normal program format does.

I've printed samples of all zoom settings to get the best version but even though it's better than nothing it still sucks.

I've downloaded to a tablet and laptop and tried to use the Adobe PDF program to manipulate the pdf format.

You can highlight and underline but thats about it on these files.

Again better than NOTHING but not great.

Ultimately the best format and best program is the racetrack program.

If anyone knows another service that provides a good quality printable program pdf for any price please list in this thread.

I used to print my programs for years. I had trouble purchasing ink refills (bottles) because walmart etc. quit selling them due to the large printer company influences, as I was told by a Walmart employee. Anyhow I have been handicapping using the on-line format. I get a piece of paper write down race # horse number(s) I like odds next to it and Driver, Then I write down my bet IE 2-34. Then I draw a line under it and write down next race. It took me awhile to get used to not having a printed program but I prefer doing what I do now. I Save alot in ink and paper LOL 1 sheet per card, Just my 2 cents... I watch races at home so I have the program online to watch during races.

This is Horse Racing 101.

How hard can it be for a racetrack to print a fucking program?

I can't Google "who's going to win the Daily Double tonight at Hawthorne?"

I need a program to study otherwise I might as well go to a fucking casino and piss my money away in the slots.

Programs are a basic ingredient in the horse racing diet.

Without them customers are going to get pissed and will eventually stop playing altogether.

To add insult onto injury when they do get the programs on time, they don't order enough and run out!

So they take the last program they have and copy the Hawthorne part leaving out the rest.

Thats a genius business model too.
