Hawthorne night harness meet to begin February 2020!

Hawthorne is cancelling its thoroughbred meet in spring next season so it can do daytime construction on it's new casino and sportsbook areas. Thoroughbred racing will be dormant until Arlington decides to pick up in May.

Good news for harness fans. ???

Carey’s don’t want to pay for changing the surface from harness back to Tbreds... then back again

they save some decent cash there

Tbreds not allowed to run at night?

i thought casino was being built during day in winter.... sun sets a bit earlier that time of year

plenty of darkness for either breed.. cheaper to stayvharness

It is the proposed track in Tinley Park.   

In 2021 there may be 2 tracks racing 160 days total.  Quite the turnaround.
