Track master Ratings of horses

I know Meds use these figures and watching the Red Mile tonight I see they use it for classification.

What are your opinions of it ?

I've said this many times before but I don't know whose ass their pulling these TM numbers from?

I've been a TM customer for over 20 years now and the numbers the tracks put on their screens do NOT match the Power, Speed, Class or Pace figures I get from TM Pro.

Me and my buddies would compare what the Meadowlands would show as their TM numbers before a race to my TM Pro program I would have open on my tablet.

They were never the same.

I'm paying $79 a month for the unlimited and can access all the individual data fields at any time.

On the TVG app their TM numbers match my TM Platinum Pro numbers exactly in every data field.

Even Hawthorne's numbers are different and I can't get an answer as to why?

The ratings work. Ratings make races much more competitive and you eliminate the buddy system race secretaries like to use. If you see a track that is not using them, I guarantee that race secretary is being bought and paid for.

If it uses data for more than the last 4 starts, then I like it. Tool I use at Northfield is to look at horse 4th last start. If the horse that night can drop a lot of money off their card and has a suspect post, good chance their ducking to drop class for next week.... the pop off a win at 3-5.

i do think they are making races a tiny bit more competitive.

I have all my old Track Master original instruction manuals on how they compile and compute their data.

They also have instruction videos for idiots like you who need extra help.

All TM data you see has been run through their proprietary software.

The only thing "raw" is that gaping open head wound the doctor gave you when he dropped you at birth.

Let me clarify some misleading comments posted by the dullest tool in our plop shed.

In TM's Pro you absolutely can manipulate data fields.

For example for Power settings at heavily speed biased tracks I have created a separate Power ranking placing more emphasis on early speed and post position.

This is, and I repeat, a separate field I created that is independent of TM's original Power rankings.

You can "adjust" your biases every night based on track conditions or every race if you want.

But your "adjustments" are your own and do NOT alter Tm's numbers.

You can manipulate many of the different data fields based on your own perceived biases but the results are your own.

TM gives you many different angles you can choose to handicap from like a sloppy track adjustment for all rankings including In The Money ( ITM% ) percentages over the horse's lifetime on a sloppy track.

These "adjustments" are made by TM and they are not included in the original rankings because all original rankings assume a fast track.

Bottomline here is TM gives you their rankings AFTER they run the pp's through their software.

Any "adjustments" you make to their numbers now becomes YOUR RANKINGS not theirs.

#1 PATS A KEEPER: In the program she has a HR: 80.61

So how did they come up with her ranking?

TM has these ratings listed at TVG and in my Pro Account.....Power 83.1  Speed 78  Class 70

Average these 3 ratings together you get 77.03 which doesn't match the program HR number.

You can then average the last 10 Speed ratings for #1 and you still don't equal HR; 80.61

This HR; 80.61 is not a number represented in any of the data fields as Cigar's "raw number" or "adjusted" number.

Clearly TM must be sending this HR number to the tracks to use but it is not independently represented in their premium handicapping program.
