Race 7 today at Chester.
« on: August 09, 2019, 02:53:11 PM »
Todays race seven at Chester had an entry in it. The result came 6-1-1A-5    The 1A caused interference. The judges only took the 1A down. Should have both horses been DQed since it was an entry.

Something similar happened to me at Chester a while ago.  Had a tri and used the 1 entry in the number.  1 of the entry finished 2nd but the other half, which did not finish in the number, interfered with a horse and was placed last.  They took the entry down and out of the money.  Still cannot come to understand the rule.

That’s the judges call per jurisdiction

Pompano will DQ the entire coupling if one horse is found guilty even if it has absolutely nothing to do with the race

most places use common sense and treat them as separate entities

I once got taken down from a score at Yonkers with the same situation... the 4th finisher interfered so they took both down when the other half finished second.

Then you got robbed as i did at ppk

of course no uniformity in racing... just look at the drug rules and fair start pole

Well that would explain it.  I have seen some really terrible placings at Chester over the years.  I wondered if they were watching the same race as I was.

the judges at Chester are very slow mentally

takes them awhile to figure out what happened even though they watched the race several times

they are not the worst guys around

just old

If they believe the other half benifitted from the interference, they can take both down, rarely see it though...once saw 1 half get taken down for inteferring with the other half at pleasanton thoroughbreds...e ntry finished 1st and 3rd...wound up 2nd and 3rd...explanation from stewards was different owners and jockeys...horse who finished 3rd was entitled to be moved up...what about the bettors?  Tough shit, lol.
