Im in 2:50 on a fair track in poor weather conditions where I'm at. Toughens them right up. Used to different weather, track conditions, etc. Could all be going more, and they'd all train around 2:30 at Northfield tomorrow if I had to (20 sec difference between my track and nfld right now) Be ready to pace 2:00 by June 1st on that schedule as long as they keep wanting to go and keep coming down. It always all depends.

In March it still doesn't matter how fast they've gone a mile in. What matters is their conditioning and how fast they've gone an 8th/quarter.
Mine have been in 35, last Q 35, last 8th in 17. Probably bike them up when they hit 25. Don't want to go much faster than that rate in a jog cart on a two year old.
Never understood stood guys that trained in 210 and under on babies in jog carts.

every one can be a racehorse dont look at mile times means shit. old fashioned philosophy. speed at intermittent burst training them to turn it on and off like the flick of a switch teaches them race smarts all they need to be successful if they can pull it off and granted have any turn of foot. you morons can have your 20's 30's whatever but if your not teaching them anything during that mile then throw the watch away and get a job at 7 eleven like most harness rejects.
