Here in Toronto..piece in today Toronto Sun sports...reporter went backstretch woodbine thoroughbred and heard their frustrations..ope ning day gone and more days like it ahead.

All the horsemen asking: if gulfstream, tbay, oaklawn running to empty buildings but big handle, why not them? Horsemen here indicating theyre running lean training operations and safety measures in full effect.
No doubt Woodbine handle would be sizeable.  Many trainer stable operations, though not all, suffering and in need of racing..things are tight.

Woodbine released no comment except that they are working closely with all levels of government up here waiting for a go ahead....no sign of that yet, toronto still under the covid19 heaviness. (thanks and fuck off communist china govt)

And harness-wise..no real update for action well west of the big city...mohawk (campbellvile- hr west of toronto) grand river (kitchener area) flamboro, western fair - all an hr or two away.  Personally, it looks like these place(s) COULD open, if all safety measures in place..though none of these same building casinos, where people would be on top of each other, are anywhere near ready to get clearance...it may just well be the huge PR nightmare to open up again in community more than anything else.
But if they could, it feels like WEG and others would start the races, and leave all else on their grounds closed.

-Queen's Plate knocked out..at least now
-all Ontario OTB locations have been closed since early March...thus horseplayers up here ALL banging their phones and laptops..either hpi or offshore incl playing all tracks that are open to US side.
-and I know you want to know..New York's own Dolores Basilone, hunkered down in these parts up here with her stable waiting for things to re-open...or maybe waiting for u.s.a. border to re-open for return back to new england. stay tuned.

News flash Premier Doug Ford's ratings were in the toilet prior to this Covid-19 now with the way he has handled things in Ontario his ratings are very high. He is not doing things for the ratings, he is doing what is right for the people of the province. When Trump said no exports of 3M N95 masks to Canada Trump forgot or didn't know the Canadian head office for 3M is in London Ontario. Ford told 3M Canada to get out of Ontario unless they were prepared to set up manufacturing in London. 3M they went against Trump's orders and shipped the masks to Ontario and the rest of Canada and 3M is setting up manufacturing in London as of now.
