a valid point that some  people seem unable to grasp
the horse business is not like others that have to shut down , when a business shuts down their costs( other than perhaps rent ) stop, no wages paid, no supplies bought etc , yes of course they are losing profit
 in the horse business  the horses have to be fed and cared for , they also have to be trained to some degree, all costs money , and keep making the stakes payments
but many folks are like , screw horse racing not necessary, perhaps , but what would you suggest we do with the thousands of horses that now have no purpose, let them all lose in fields, subdivisions or should people just pay to care for them for another 15 years until they die of natural causes, and add into the mix the thousands of yearlings  and new born foals as well
use some common sense, were not running a hamburger stand

PLEEEEEZ!!!  Everything he's got, he bought!!  Mine are Homebred!!  I own the mare, and I keep the babies.  The 1st 2, bred to Always A Virgin, weren't worth 2 dead flies!!  Then we went to Rockin Image, and it was a Golden Cross!!!  If he owns more than 10% I would be surprised!!
