How long will it take us in this country to be able to condemn the looting and rioting without being called a racist or condemn the bad cops without being called a Leftist or Socialist or whatever the buzz word is for the day?

We can do both.

I can you that my current father-in-law worked for Cook County then retired as a Chicago Cop after 25 years there where he patrolled the worst areas of the city, worked narcotics for a few years and this man is livid over what this cop did!

He is ashamed of the police's behavior every time an incident like this happens.

We all know the majority of police are wonderful people who care about the citizens they serve.

So calling out the bad ones or bad departments isn't a condemnation of all police nor should it be seen that way.

In fairness to otherwise questionable intentions, condemning the rioters and looters isn't racial. These looters look just like every group of looters I've ever seen video of they come in all shapes and colors.

There is no room in a civilized society for vigilante justice or criminal retribution.

I honestly believe we are more in agreement here than some posts would indicate.

As I type this the Governor of Minnesota is speaking about the riot that has taken over a peaceful protest.

The law enforcement rep has just confirmed that the crowds are not grieving family and friends of George Floyd nor just concerned citizens who want the shooting of unarmed black citizens to stop.

The official government assessment of the groups doing the rioting and looting are well organized white supremacists and drug cartel members.

They are blending in until curfew time then they carry out their real intentions of mass destruction and chaos.

These aren't political operatives with a political agenda so there is no need for us to attack each other over our different political views.

I apologize for suggesting that the majority of these criminals are or would be Trump supporters.

Clearly they don't care about politics and are taking advantage of a heated situation for their own enjoyment.

Like I said earlier we can support the peaceful protest while condemning rioting and looting at the same time.

No leader should ever jump the gun and apply military force against law abiding citizens exercising their Constitutional rights.

But if our Intelligence Agencies confirm that the bad actors are well organized anti-government groups then their actions are no longer under the category of civil disobedience. It is an Act of War against Democracy itself.

It's a fine line of intelligence gathering where their is no room for error.

I'm taking a leap of faith in their assessment and joining other members here in calling for the federal government to use whatever means necessary to put a stop to the rioting and ensure the safety of the people of Minnesota.

And yes, I am a Liberal Democrat.
