Quite the hike but I enjoyed watching live races, especially when the 3year old colt pacers , grassroots would be there. If you’re a race fan, it’s a place you should check out at least once.

I haven,t been to Hanover for quite awhile.....but I remember this experience from the early 200,s or coulda been 1999, but anyway I drove from Toronto to hanover, well over 2 hours I think, to watch one of my horses go..Grand Reality, well he broke around the first turn and I just remember driving home in a torrential rainstorm for the most part on a badly light 2 lane highway.....a white knuckle drive to say the least

I urge ALL of us to get to small harness race spot in weeks ahead...it definitely renews your feeling why you started in first place.
And if possible go on a sires stakes night or aft.
Hanover in ontario def on that list.
Pre-simulcasting..The old joint along the 401 in ontario, Woodstock, now gone, but i remember going to see sat aft sires stakes card around 91...we brought two cheap picnic chairs and joined others like it right on the chainlink fence right at the line...hedges down the back and far turn backing onto homes.
But the upclose full field action, close enough to touch the horses sights and sounds and smell cannot be beaten..and the fact it was entire sires stakes card..so many horsemen and family in with their new hopeful stock added to the buzz.(nd handle)
Up here hanover..clinton.
.leamington..dres
den are long trips but probably very good for the soul.
And while ive done the Georgian (barrie) trek from toronto before..must say ive enjoyed the two trips out to kawartha a couple of saturday nights..big crowds with lots if family (yes it was family night!!) tough to make a buck..but they did have simulcasting (inc outdoor machines next to beer tent) so good.. so i was pushing through $$ at mohawk meadowlands or northfield when i tried to change local luck.
Stateside..the one that always looks great on summer tv, with lots of people visible is running aces about an hr. north of minneapolis....oh oh..just said the M word...maybe later.

Dresden is always hotter than Hades everytime Ive been there. Always still and humid. Clinton is the best..put up a few lawn chairs at the 3/4 pole. Think Ive been to every track exc some old school defunct ones like Garden City and Connaught Park. Been to Goderich, Orangeville, Belleville back in the day racin against the likes Apaches Fame and Kinway Heather.

Any input on how you feel last Saturday afternoon went at Hanover?
Where you tuned in and watching, via facebook live, the Hanover Raceway you tube channel, or thru HPI or TVG?

Tuned in via Hanover's You tube channel. Great video quality but I sure miss Hanover's Saturday night french fries.
