I'm just going out on a limb here but is there proof this horse wasn't wearing the equipment? Looks to me it could have got it's leg caught in the fence or rolled in the stall & got a cross tie wrapped around it. I love how people on her tend to make up their own stories about things without actual prove.

How about checking the equipment card, if they still have that procedure. Can't change from one race to another without making the changes on the card.

Listen carefully folks - the order to send the horse out "as was" came right from the top. Ascertain what that means on your own. People in that barn talk, not just to other horsemen but to enough people in the know that this did happen as told by the 1st poster but confirmed by me and others. Terrible!
