will anyone really care if Yonkers goes away forever?
« on: August 29, 2020, 10:56:55 AM »
well...other than the money grubber horsemen who raked it in racing in merry-go-round fashion for years and scooped the free slots loot?

DOUBTFUL !
I'm not Hush; we live in different states. Therefore, anyone saying so I wager $1,000 I'm not him. Any takers please set up escrow account for wager. You'll lose!

MGM has tried for years to get rid of racing. The land is worth a fortune. You'll see plans for a  hotel on that land in the near future.

Its the closest harness track to me so I would hate to have them gone for good.

I watched maybe two races this summer.
The one they lined up off the gate 1-8 by the first turn.

Boring races nonwithstanding, this summer hasn't been typical considering the bandishment of two of the top trainers and the missing slot money.  Couldn't even race on Saturday

MGM will do what IT has to do .. if it can't make money as is they will gut it and do something that looks modern and appealing.

My wish would be that there was a clause when they bought it that they have to keep racing for a specified period of time and they modify it to a 5/8th track to go with a hotel.  Wishful thinking I know.

  '50 people"????

So you are saying they outdraw the Pig M by 15 people on average?  I could believe that.
