I INITIALLY BECAME INVOLVED IN HARNESS RACING IN 1969.  THE TRUTH IS THAT EVEN THEN SOME OF THE MOST RESPECTED TRAINERS USED SO MANY DIFFERENT PEDS!!!!   THIS I KNOW FROM PERSONAL WITNESS OF SEVERAL HOF HORSEMEN.   AT THE TIME I AM NOT SURE WHAT THE RESTRICTIONS WERE SO I SHOULD NOT SAY THAT THEY WERE BANNED SUBSTANCES.   THE ONLY POINT I AM TRYING TO MAKE IS THAT IS CAPITALISM -----EVERYONE WILL TRY TO DO EVERYTHING AND ANYTHING TO GET THE EDGE.   I WATCH THE NFL VERY CLOSELY TODAY AND THE LAS VEGAS POINT SPREADS BLOW ME AWAY AS THE GAME FLOWS!!!  SCARY!

HARNESS RACING IS NO WORSE OR NO BETTER THAN ANY OTHER BUSINESS OR SPORT---AS LONG AS THERE IS CAPITALISM FOLKS WILL TRY TO MAXIMIZE THEIR PROFITS.  FROM WALL STREET TO MAIN STREET EVERYONE IS TRYING TO GET THE EDGE.   SOME SUCCEED AND SOME DO NOT.   USUALLY IT IS THE LITTLE GUY WHO CANNOT COMPETE DUE TO LACK OF FUNDS AND KNOWLEDGE.  HENCE, "THE RICH GET RICHER AND THE POOR STAY POOR!"

WHEN OUR SOCIETY NO LONGER CARES ABOUT MONEY AND SUCCESS THEN I FEEL THAT OUR WORLD WILL OF TILTED TOWARD SOCIALISM WHICH IN MY OPINION IS NOT A GOOD PLACE.   HOPEFULLY, WE ALL WANT TO HELP OUR FAMILIES LIVE A BETTER LIFE AND HELP OTHERS THAT ARE LESS FORTUNATE THAN US!!!

THE EXTREME IS THOSE WHO REALLY ABUSE THE SYSTEMS AND TRULY HURT THE INNOCENT.  THIS IS SOMETHING THAT SHOULD NEVER BE TOLERATED!

Gym, Your concern for an amazing equine athlete being physically unable  to perform is non existent.  I you cared about horses at all your first concern would be the horse, not a chance to fuel the venom of hate against someone who is a far superior trainer to you.  if you look in the mirror you will see the perfect image of an unwiped asshole!

I never said that the positive wasn't a bit deal.  What I will say is that the amount in the system had no therapeutic
Value and for that reason there is no placing of the horse by the commission.  As far as Wind of the North is concerned, I can't believe that Gym is happy that the horse was under obvious distress.

I suspect that this is an actual case of contamination.  They test for such small amounts that the sweat from an addict on the horse can cause a positive.
