last friday thru sunday...385k 391k 443k....why they continue to race on friday and saturday against the major players is beyond me...they should be racing maybe sunday tuesday wednesday...manag ement is just too incompetent to make this move...also, they're supposed to go to a 4 day a week schedule in february....but this idea is being scrapped because i saw in the next racing board meeting Hawthorne is asking to eliminate thursdays...hope everyone enjoys this year illinois harness...you wont see it again after 2022...all that nonsense about hawthorne building a new harness track etc is a pipedream....thes e idiots cant even get their own casino up and rolling....1000 percent agree SUNDAY ..MONDAY AND TUESDAY...IS NOT A BAD IDEA HAWTHORNE HAS RACING BOTH HARNESS AND TBREDS BY THE BALLS..3 YRS AGO THEY PASSED A SLOTS BILL IN ILLINOISWHERES THE FUCKIN CASINOMR CAREY

I was there last night and was shocked by how many people were there. The parking lot was packed and the place was loaded with people betting on simulcast. The most people I've seen there in 10 years, no exaggeration. The problem is not a single person there at Hawthorne was betting on Hawthorne! People couldn't have cared less about the ponies racing directly in front of them! I agree that a Monday-Wednesday schedule would benefit the handle, but I don't think they care about handle at this point.... Arlington did the same thing for years - raced Thursday-Sunday against the big boys. Was also disappointed by the progress of the "casino." Looks like that project has totally stalled.
