Was Dealt A Winner injured at last week at Pompano?
« on: April 09, 2022, 08:30:01 PM »
Anyone have an intel. This is one of my favorite horses who battled with all the greats like like Wiggle, Miki, McWicked. He had been racing pretty good on the Harrah's circuit never throwing in a bad race and still going 1:50 miles before Burke bought up in and last year at the Big M had a terrible race as heavy fave where he backed up. Clearly a few pegs down in ability, he resurfaced to middling success at the Meadows but now has been down at Pompano where he was just okay. Well after blistering through early fractions of 26.2 and 54.4 and hitting the 3/4 still on top he totally gave up, look like he wasnt going to well and basically jogged to finish beaten 17 lengths

As much as I like to see him race, if a horse cannot go anymore with lower conditions maybe its time to retire. Hope it wasnt one race too late for him. A champion like that who ran so many sub 150 miles and one of the few who beat Wiggle in his prime deserves better.
