I can’t be the only one just praying 🙏 🙏 🙏 for the bike to split in 2!!!!
You’re not 🙏🙏🙏
How in the hell Does the Race Secretary allow Nandolo in this Race. Not only does he let him drop to this level, he writes him in! Never ever ever since Ive been in the biz does it look ok to write in a horse that pays 2.10 to win. Not a great idea. Wonder whats going on in that office?
That Bongiorno ass kissing the tritons been doing is really paying off now. Yonkers even more crooked than the Steve Star era which really takes some doing.
The Yonkers race secretary and Judges IMHO-could do a much better job. Race secretary should start handicapping more races. Put lower purse earners inside, write more races for horses that need class relief--eg in nw 5000-more often than not--1 or 2 horses always stand out--so the ones that need some class relief need some help---like drawing inside or write a nw 2500 last 5 or at least put those on the inside . Every program now--you see 20/1 shots in the 678 positions in the majority of races. If you dont slant the gate more-or have the starting car speed up at the head of the stretch and be at full speed at the start--the outside horses need to lay over the field in order to have a chance.JUDGES---make and ENFORCE this BS whipping by Bongiorno and co.These are modern times--with many diehard animal lovers aghast at the abuse these racehorses are getting--needs to stop pronto.I was at Yonkers 2 weeks ag0-- a lady stopped to watch a race-and started crying her eyes out near the finish watching Bongiorno ruthlessy whipping his horse while jumping up in the bike like a Jack in the box. I tried to calm her down by saying that the whips they use just make a lot of noise to get the horses attention and dont hurt--but she didnt believe me. This shit keeps going with money hungry grubs like Bongiorno-doing everything but kill a horse to win--needs to stop. They dont use whips at all in many parts of Scandinavia-and its a much better look. Drivers need to carry a whip in case a horse needs it--but this incessant whipping-is a terrible look for Yonkers. I would throw Bongiorno out everywhere if I was Judge-JMO.
Great observations and points, thank you, and from FirstUpFrom8Hole yesterday, a former driver and still involved horseman, the excessive use of the whip can put the horse "in distress", make them "dangerous" and "erratic" during the race. They're conditioned but they feel it, here is a horse bucking from a horsefly bite:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PTcSq57t8NoJust stop drawing post positions and treat each and every race at Yonkers like an open handicap, with all assigned post positions by their last 8 starts earned, lowest monies earned start at the 1 hole up to the 10 hole second tier for highest earners racing - for the Yonkers Racing Sec, he's been advised, and if a horse comes off a layoff start those at the 5 hole and disregard earnings in their case. Maybe a different scenario for claimers.
I agree and, have been say the same for quite some time. Just as the T-breds handicap by weight. But, there will be the wiseguys who will be inclined to stiff a fit and properly placed animal, to insure an inside post in the next start.
Another component that is missing to make handicapping post position by earnings is the horse population. Back in the day, when race secretaries controlled the game with ABC classification the population on the grounds at Roosevelt was 1000 horses or so. With another 500 in shipping distance. All while needing just 80 horses to fill a card. I see $12,500 claimers that don't fill. And, Opens going for $30-$40K with 5 horse fields. Some cards you will see 30% or more with imports. Fooking Ireland is now an exporter of uper class racehorses.
There’s something weird going on there. They can’t fill races yet I’m told they’ve got dozens racing applications from trainers just sitting on the desk. If they really worried about filling all those races wouldn’t you think those applications would all processed? Like I said the place is more crooked than ever.
