Salary ??
« on: May 11, 2023, 12:14:46 PM »
How much does the guy that puts up the numbers during the race get paid ? Most races at most tracks have small fields with very little movement and the numbers are always wrong.
USTA tries to promote some pick 4's and pick 5's with guaranteed pools and carryovers and that guy responsible for putting up a link to get a program usually puts up the program for the wrong races or like today it has Monticello races 3-6 and it's a pick 5.

You mention a couple of different things that are a hybrid of the Race Secretary and the Announcer / Race Caller Offices (and Broadcasting and Marketing) typically.  I don't think they have a name like "the numbers guy and other information specialist"  lol and I know you didn't mean that, just an assistant to the above offices, but call and check.

Tracking a horse during a race should be done with TrackIt, gps like technology and usually is and even it goes wrong (Horses on the track disappear LMAO), but podunk tracks I get your beef!   ;D

My favorite is when they put up the same number for 2 positions.  ngc3 ngc3 ngc3

Pay offs in your ADW before it even says OFFICIAL, like a broadcast delay and real time TOTE.  Wrong order of finish not that it went official, but corrected before about every couple hundred times....the hits just keep on coming!  ;D
