Chicago Harness Racing

Today is July 5, 2023. What is the status of the new casino at Hawthorne. Fans, owners, drivers, trainers have been waiting almost 4 years.
If there is no status, why is no pressure being put on Hawthorne? On racing board?

This waiting game has completely destroyed the harness game in Illinois. As an owner how can you invest when you don't even know if there is going to be racing dates.

IT pretty simple. CHICAGO is in process with their tempory while the full construction underway soon.
Hawthorne is makin great money with their 18 OTB'S with 6 more to come. There PACKED. And they makin great money on SPORT BETTIN.
GIVE it a break.

It's privatly owned And they have to invest in themselves. For god's sakes no one goes to the track. You think, people are goin stream in if they have a casino.
Their makin money with their OTB'S and SPORTS bettin .
Why don't you ask FANDUAL formermaerly FAIRMONT PARK.,why they have not built a casino. They do not have to. They makin a fortune off of SPORT BETTIN.

THE JOHNSON FAMILY AND LANGLEY RUINED ILLINOIS HARNESS RACING. ONE OF THE KIDS GOT CAUGHT PAYING OFF SOMEONE AND WAS STUPID ENOUGH TO GET CAUGHT. THE ONLY WAY HE WAS ABLE TO STAY OUT OF PRISON WAS IF HE RATTED ON THE OTHER PEOPLE.

The ship has sailed on the Hawthorne racing project. If a new project gets legs,all the people waiting for it will be dead or  retired. A new track will be utilized by the next generation!

It is supposedly going to happen. Robin and Dana are buying balmoral and we’re at least going to be able race year round again. Th3 purses won’t be great but harness racing is coming back to Chicago full time.
