With one partner, we own a couple shares ( ;D) of this 2 yo trotter.

First race last week Mohawk, he broke 50 yards before the start.

I was there and the experience was a bit underwhelming.

My partner would like to take the whole piece.  We're talking not much money.

Here's his 2nd race from a couple days ago:

Stretch head on at 2:45.

My dear plop horsemen:  How's he look?  Should I stay or should I go?

TIA

Underwhelming?  Wasn't he 2nd at 14-1?  If it's not much money why sell?  Looks pretty good to me.

You will never go broke taking a profit!
I have sold many many horses at their prime and at a profit. None did I ever regret.
After five undefeated starts I sold a IL. bred two year old. He was the national seasons leader at the time.
The next time I was at the track a top IL. trainer said to me "Boy you sure gave that one away".
The colt never made his purchase price back.
IMHO
If this is your hobby, then don't sell.
If it is your business, then sell.
I am just an old horse trainer still going around in circles. Sometimes Fast. Sometimes Half-Fast.

What is important with a horse like him is using the same driver every start. He gets a bit rapid gaited up front but smooths out nicely once he settles down. He will make money early because he can leave . It depends what kind of money you have invested. I would keep him. tmbz1

I am sure you heard this FWIW

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oaGAPslQCxU

I watched his replay and IMO, I would not sell for double or triple

Starts at 8.23 mark.

I see he's a 3/4 brother to What The Hill.

If your 100% profit is $10,000 , then I'd sell.
If it's 50 bucks, I'd stay.
