Fulton is not Linda's problem - It's the owner.  He like some other owners believe horses are machines and you can just go hard every week.  A top level 3yo has to be managed and given breaks.  This isn't the old days where you could get 20-25 starts out of a 3yo.  If you get 12-15 and maybe 18 tops your extremely lucky.  Sometimes you have to skip a big one to prep for another big one.

I'm guessing that the horse will disappear for a short time and come back at towards the late part of the year and steal a big race. Only time will tell!

I keep hearing a good horse and a cheap horse.  That is based on speed alone.
Ive had horses that could go in 56 that tried just as hard, or harder than the ones going in 52 And in a big barn the 57 horse got a lot less attention.

I get your points and they make sense but I never based a good or cheap horse based on speed. My criteria was their ability to earn.
Earnings was the measuring stick. Ya know, rather win in 57 than lose in 53

Hell, Ray Schnittker has trained 2 Meadowlands Pace winners and an undefeated Hambletonian winner and has trained and developed at least 10 million dollar earning horses and he wont sniff the HOF

Not to mention one knock out or TKO at the Meadowlands paddock!

And that boils down to classification which is very difficult where the guy that puts races together (not to be confused with a race secretary) uses the track master rating system.

Agreed. Speed and track master will destroy what's left of our beloved sport from with in. As if we don't already have enuf external demons. Horses pacing in .50/last quarter 26 and change or better and not getting a check is ridiculous but this is where we have evolved.
