Bartlett....best driver there by far
looking at results --- he did it with 6 different trainers --- with good price horses.
We may think JB is a YR specialist and not much else but I disagree. You, we, may not love half mile racing any longer but a winning driver must be aggressive and have fantastic, split second reflexes. Half mile driving can be extremely unforgiving in a flash and that’s what separates JB from a bunch of other drivers. JB does very well on 5/8 tracks with a 19-20% win and approximately a .345 UDRS. Clearly he hasn’t performed as well at the Meadowlands with a 12% win and .221 UDRS. At the end of the day he is in third place in earnings nation wide and was fourth in 2022. Those are impressive numbers and I do not know how anyone can turn these facts into a negative.
Blah blah blah He needs to do thisHe needs to do that Know what he doesn’t need ti worry about ? The $8.2 million in purses won. Pauline doesn’t/didn’t need to leave Meadows. Merriman can stay on his commuter path. Trace Tetrick can stay in the MidwestSo many think Bartlett to move and prove something. Only thing his situation proves…. That 97% of harness driver wish they racked up Bartlett earnings.
Bartlett is very talented and a great guy
And above all—a Maine native!
Specializes in driving drugged up horses. Hard to root for the guy when his wife was down as owner on horses with Banca and as soon as Banca is arrested, they stopped owning.
