Look at this with an open mind.Racing horses is supposed to be a combination of many variables 1. Talent of the horse2. Trainer talent3. Driver talent4. Why should the draw dictate who wins before the race goes5. 1/2 mile tracks are VERY hard on joints6. You can over drive one on a 1/2 and win7. Try over driving one on a big track and see what happensDoesn't happen on a 1/2

Of course you both are essentially correct. I was simply saying these days you need to be up near the speed on any sized track. Also seems like there are far fewer live flows of cover. Also you don't see those large sweeping charges to the wire that you did in the glory days, regardless of track size. They were so exciting. I feel like I see more of the races I am talking about when I watch Canadian racing.
