This should bring Fuguzzi hate out of the wings...Was doing some research after I mentioned in a thread that Yannick is on a trajectory to be the all time average earnings per start leader in the history of the sport and (possibly) all time money earner. Of course, i was told i am crazy and Yannick sucks and lives off Burke and all that. All of that is subjective babble open to debate, but here are the figures which don't lie and can't be twisted.* Yannick - fastest driver to $200 million in purses in history.* There are 7 drivers in history including Yannick who have $200 million plus in purse earnings. He is the youngest.* The number of drives it has taken him to accomplish vs that of his peers is astonishing...Campbell $299 million.....62,000 drivesMiller $278 M............69,000 drivesTetrick $265 M............67,500 drivesY. Gingras $225 M............48,500 drives 15 to 20 thousand fewer drives to crack the most exclusive club in racing is amazingPierce $215M.............67,000 drivesSears $213 M............55,000 drives - very notable accomplishmentBrennan $202M.............70,000 drivesWe should all "suck" so bad
No denying his immense talent. But would have $250 million made already if he drove smarter.
Campbell $299,892,141.00 61887 $4,845.80 Miller $278,331,635.00 69236 $4,020.04 Tetrick $265,035,315.00 67652 $3,917.63 Y Gingras $225,017,139.00 48466 $4,642.78 Pierce $215,343,077.00 67034 $3,212.45 Sears $213,727,011.00 55318 $3,863.61 Brennan $202,850,465.00 70293 $2,885.78 Those are dead nuts up to date accurate numbers. Now after looking at this data you may think oh my god Yannick is some great driver but you definitely are not looking at all the data. Yannick started driving in 98 and went from nothing to driving YR in one yr. His avg race purse is ten times any other driver on the list for there first ten yrs except John D. David Miller cut his teeth at Ohio fairs then Scioto downs in the 90's. Tetrick started in Illinoise with minimal success for his first few yrs. Pierce was same for his first 8-10yrs. Sears started at VD racing for no money and then the meadows for most all of the 90's. Brennan was a Freehold guy long before he was a regular at the Meadowlands. So when you chop out all these guys first 8-10 years when they drove for zero dollars on fair tracks you would clearly see that Yannick has been driving for an avg. of 3-4k per race over his career than the rest. A better just is percentage of money captured and John D hands down is in a class of his own that will never be duplicated by anyone. Yannick is no where to be found on this list. You have to remember he is 0-eternity in the hambo. If you strip out Burke and Takter he would be scapping for 3-4mil a yr and probably a Yr's or Meadows driver.
You wanna try to compare Yanick to Campbell just watch the Jug yesterday then watch Life Sign. Yanick has 1 plan going in live or die the greats can adjust to circumstances and adapt
Seriously you’re going to compare Yannick to Campbell , as Sheldon Cooper said”did you take a marijuana marijuana?”. Yannick has driven in the majority of his career in the slot enriched era. Here’s the only statistic that matters, how many million dollar races has JC won versus Yannick. I don’t know but would guess it’s like 8-1 in favor of JC. That’s when you know a guys great when they deliver in those moments.
BTW, it is true Campbell did not race in the slot era, but comeon 95 percent of his career was the Big M and the purses were huge in those days Plus as we all know he drove the best horses everywhere, Grand Circuit all the YR and RR majors, Europe for millions annually. Campbell is still the "standard"
