You gotta remember he's now 10 years old. I believe he raced 40 times for The Stable and made over 190k.

I remember him in the Mohawk Opens. I believe JJ was in the sulky. Sintra was a very good horse...for many years.

After tonight's first race, Sintra gets his well earned going away ceremony.

Didn’t they buy him off Menary for a large sum?

Yes; they didn't buy him cheap. He won the Gold Cup and Saucer in fine fashion and was a decent high condition horse since.

I am really glad to see a nice horse like him retired before he broke down completely. Yeah, I think it's a bit of a publicity stunt for the Stable. But at the end of the day, a nice old campaigner gets a good retirement home and I am all for it. The rest should be so lucky.

$261,000 (one partner bought out the others, and brought in some new partners).

So...another Stable horse that lost significant money.

The Stable didn't pay $261k. He was sold for $261k in 2019 when one partner bought out others, and brought in new partners. The Stable bought him a few years later in 2021.

Anyone with half a brain that saw him his last couple of starts had to wonder why are they torturing the old fella! It would have been a travesty for him lose his life on the track after the career he had.

Your an idiot

He won his last race in 53.3 and could have been put on ongait or preferred and brought decent money

The group sacrificed money to do right by the horse.

  • dougie: I know very little about him. But since I admire his goals, I admire the man. There'a alot of hate out there. But it's the horses that all should focus on. My friend Trigger tells me i'm naive about things. I am not. But I do believe that what he does overrides the petty nasty personal attacks we see so frequently.
