Astounding Harrisburg Mixed Sale
« on: October 22, 2023, 09:27:57 AM »
Never seen a better group of racehorses in a mixed sale and there are at least 50 others who won $50,000+ this past year.  Clearly there is an unload/reload process going on as most of these are from the larger "enterprises"...

I used to go the Harrisburg sales in November and luckily did well. I looked for lower echelon horses in the 12 - 15000 range to bring to NY and play with in the lower claimer ranks. I remember offering Meittinis 12,000 for a 3 year old racing in the NW 4 class that I knew was in the sale, to save us both the trouble. He said TY, he was very polite, but if I went to the sale I might get him for 10k. He could have taken 12 on the spot but was such a gentleman, he actually cared about saving, me, the buyer money LOL. I ended up getting him at 11.5K   saved me 500!   LOL   Great memories.

Very few lower level horses in this year's sale. Like Seattle said, mostly top barn sellers looking to replenish their pockets. Better bring a thick wallet if you're going.

Here's the catalog with the racelines.  I believe this link will be updated at least once a week

I knew a guy in the  late 70's ,who would load up a small squirt gun with some clear "blister" and go to the Delaware sale early, and spritz a knee, hock or ankle on his selections. One time he got 5 horses qualified and racing with $3,500!  ngc3
