I guess I'm getting old and my memory is foggy. I remember Artsplace winning a big race at YR. What was impressive was he kept the field single file most of the mile, he led every step.
You're not that old yet and your memory is not that foggy yet either. Artsplace won the US Pacing Championship at Yonkers -- setting a new all age track record -- in 1:52.1Go check out the race. It was an incredibly impressive performance. Most people don't truly understand how much talent that horse actually had.
I only remember Artsplace racing once on a half and that was at 3 in the Dancer at Freehold, which he won.
https://youtu.be/Gvnd_Ch7Awk?si=r3W_XGOnnRiRNXTBArtsplace won the US Pacing Championship at The Meadowlands in 1992unless they had another US Pacing Championship at Yonkers the same year i say Artsplace never competed at Yonkers unless it was his 2yo season in 1990if he did--please show me video or a chartthank you

I am aware that i broke some secret unwritten rule"Though shall not speak against Artsplace"but i didnt--he was greatbut this is a classic example of folks remembering and believing what they wantyes, Artsplace at pompano as a 2yoyes, Artsplace undefeated as a 4yo-spectacularbut nobody wants to talk about Precious Bunny completely dominating him in 1991--ALL YEAR LONGthey faced about 10 or 11 times with Precious Bunny winning 8 or 9 of themyes, Robinson gasone could easily say, considering how " great " he was at two--and his undefeated season at age 4..that Artsplace had one of the most disappointing 3yo seasons ever in 1991
Almost everyone I know -- everyone in the business -- knows it's common knowledge that Artsplace was not healthy for a major portion of his three year old year. You can say whatever you want against Artsplace -- even that I imagined him at YR and it's a figment of my own imagination. I didn't own him, train him or anything of the like. Sick or not during his 3yo year, that takes zero away from Precious Bunny. But if you ask HOD drivers and trainers who saw both, experts in the sport who saw both -- would Artsplace or Precious Bunny make it onto your top 3 of the last 30 or so years, it would be a lopsided poll.
