Not my favorite trainer but why are his finances of anyones concern unless you are an owner and horses not getting fed.

And the answer is---

Because you are on horseplop!   When the have nots get a right to put their 2 cents worth [in many cases these people only have 2 cents literally speaking as well as living in mommy and daddy's basement without a pot to piss in] on those who have more than them.  It's called jealousy and envy!

Word around Hoosier Park is that his owners lost 9 million dollars this past year.  Some have already left him and moved to other trainers.  He is one hard working Amishman but relies way too much on chemistry for someone with an Amish education.  If you peak into his barn at the Indiana State Fairgrounds you may see several horses with tubes hanging out of the noses. Supposedly his last year was way off because he could see the hand writing on the was and cut way back on "special additives" on race day.  My God, his daughter lived with Surick and they shipped horses back and forth.  BTW, his daughter is now married to an Amishman.  Doubt if all the horses she drove to become Amateur Driver of the year were racing on hay and oats since they all came out of Daddy's barn or Surick's barn.

Where do you people get the idea that Erv backed off??  His UTRS and earnings are pretty close to what they have been for last 10 years
