YONKERS CLAIMING SERIES
« on: February 08, 2024, 02:00:21 PM »
Does anyone know the rules on the claiming series?

If you claim one, How long do they have to stay at Yonkers before they can race elsewhere? 30 day? 60 days?

Are the people that race there the only ones that can put a claim in or is it open to any licensed owner?

Please note: No claimed horse will be released to race anywhere but Yonkers Raceway for 60 days from
date of claim without the permission of the Race Secretary.

Claiming rule is 60 days.    Anyone can claim but you may not be allowed to race the horse if you're not accepted

According to Petrelli, you have to fill out a stall app and have it approved to even claim at Yonkers.

It all depends on if the previous owner wants him back! Beware because you will be 8 holed to death by the race office until you drop to the level you got him from

I think its to all licensees as of Jan. 1 2024. And You must retain ownership during the entire series unless claimed prior. I think 30 days.
