The more people involved in harness racing the better. Good bad and even the nasty are what make it go round. If you nerf harness racing just like the rest of the world is doing to everything else and sterilize it so nobody gets hurt physically and emotionally then what good is it. It's a real sport not T-ball.  The more people involved the more interest in the sport and then more  competition and  more bettors.

Petrelli has been warned by the owners to keep quiet and if any issues or problems arise as a result of him being allowed to jog and train, they will do exactly what Steve Jones did at Goshen and he will be thrown off the property. Dreamlands wants no problems or negative press from this.

This won't last long.  He burns every bridge he has at some point.

You know he got thrown off Birch Creek right? Also. You think I will race this horse if he's off? Doing what I gotta do. Little better each week. Last barn he was in just ran up vet bills. Horse has a home here no matter what. Why so angry?

  • dougie: IIB, I think the mayor will sign the bill if it reaches his desk. The optics on this issue is bad for the horse carriage industry. Animal activists are adept to using the media to enlist horror and anger by the public.

  • Ignorance Is Bliss: It's now a bill with city council. Public hearings will be scheduled then the council votes on it. If passed it's sent to the Mayor to sign into law. He has already said he's in. Marte just took over, Bob Holden is the actual author of the bill who retired last year.

  • dougie: IIB, I have been reading some of the work Councilman Marte has been doing on this issue. I think he might be successful with passing the 'Ryders Law" Bill this time around. The image of the horse dead on the street has even been seen here everywhere. If the animal activists can get this on the ballot, who knows how the vote will go.
