How did the moron on the #3 not see the starting car? Did he hit the wing with the horse? Stop having these races. Horses don't deserve to be put at risk by these idiots!
It was a bad day all around at Monticello. Not only did the 6th race turn out to be a disaster in many ways, but Mr. Oil had the time wrong during his call by a minute.Calling a race isn't easy--I've tried it. Maybe that's why there are so few "top" announcers. I give Howard lots of credit for longevity--40 years at Monticello is incredible. The first race call was also a disaster.1. At the 3/8's Howard said that Ackles Hanover's lead was "insurmountable". The horse finished 4th and was placed 3rd. Interesting use of "insurmountable". 2. Using "still" in the same sentence twice may be a tad redundant. 3. Coming off the final turn, the call was, "Ackles Hanover is slowing down rapidly". I guess that's what happens when you lose an insurmountable lead.
