What happened that Buffalo cancelled with Sire Stakes? How do they make them up? Never seen that before.

By far worst track in the country Not 1 thing good about that shithole Was the horsemen rep even there? Probably at his palatial estate in FL laughing all the way to the bank And why did Batavia agree to take that shit 2 month winter meet off their hands and of course give BR almost all of July now Geez doesn't take Einstein to figure that out WNY horsemen WAKE UP

Is there really a need to have a BR and a Batavia?

And the answer is---

Jim Mango who is in charge of Buffalo Raceway is smarter than Western Regional Off Track Betting {WROTB}.

Buffalo has all the amenities but the worst racing surface.

As Buffalo Raceway is 'owned' by the agricultural society (I believe non-profit), all they care about is the bottom line, so the higher ups get bigger paychecks!

Buffalo's meet is now shorter which means they race for more purse money.  Also, the racetrack only has to be maintained for 7 months not 12.  Less expenses too even though whoever does track maintenance there is overpaid as he cannot even have a decent track for the horsemen to race over!

I believe Buffalo closes next week and the horsemen can't wait for Batavia to open.  Less money but a better track surface.

What is more important--Track surface or better amenities [barns, etc]?

Cancellation: Should circumstances prevent the racing of any Sire Stakes event, the monies and points will
be prorated among owners of entered horses on the grounds for the uncontested event at the time of
declaring off. The money will not be counted as money earned. The points will count towards the finals.
The cancelled event will also count as a Sire Stakes start. Extenuating circumstances such as weather and
labor disputes could be cause for rescheduling the final or consolation races, as per the NYSGC Rule
4114.3. All events shall be scheduled and run in cooperation with each licensee harness track in this state.

Thank you that answers my ?.
Foot note from the email my friend sent from there back in April M. Torville must not have been there , according to the email from back in April had he
Been when Drue M caused the cancellation it would not have happened.
Why don’t the breeders just drop Buffalo from the Stakes program.

I don’t think the “Fund” can drop them but the track can decline them. I think the track did that a couple years ago?

FYI, a tornado did land in Eden , 1 town below Hamburg where Buffalo Raceway is located. Also, another tornado landed a handful of miles south.
