Two year old trotter that just won the 9th at The Meadowlands.
How the hell can this be a trotter?

2nd dam by Western Hanover
3rd dam by Abercrombie
4th dam by Race Time
5th dam by Obrien Hanover
Fifty plus years ago at Atlantic City Raceway I qualified a mare from this colts fifth generation in 2:14 or so on the pace and thought I did a hell of a job to get her around in one piece.
AKE has got to be the best ever!

I am just an old horse trainer still going around in circles. Sometimes Fast. Sometimes Half-Fast.

It's happening quite a bit more now than I can remember in recent history.

Googoogaagaa (trotting bred on dam side, pacing bred sire)
Doc's Boo Boo (pretty decent Ohio bred trotter by Downbytheseaside out of a trotting bred dam)
Plus the horse that won the Elitlopp a few years ago (Don Fanucci Zet) is by a trotting sire out of a full pacing bred mare.

And on the flip side, saw a 2yo Long Tom win tonight in the Buckeyes at Scioto - 2yo pacing colt from a trotting bred mare. 53.2 and looked pretty good doing it.
