WHAT DOES ODDS ON RACING DO THAT OTHERS CANT
« on: July 16, 2024, 11:45:28 AM »
Over the years, the vast % of people with large racing stables who also were into breeding ended up getting out of the breeding business. A  few ( like Burke) produce a top sire that can change their lives and cover lots of breeding expenses. I don;t think Odds On has produced any life-changing sires. What makes his business model work? They've been around a long time.

Dana and Eric designed odds on racing to lose money for tax write offs in an effort to get their dirty money that was obtained off shore, washed and laundered into good ole US currency.  They’ve lost money every year they’ve been in the business. But odds on racing has been successful at exactly what they created it to do, lose money. With all due respect, Eric and Dana aren’t stupid people in any way, shape or form, they are just unethical businessmen always trying to get one up on people. That’s just my opinion.

You do realize the Federal Government only let's you claim losses for a limited amount of time.

Not even close. Australian Horse race Gambler-Ranogajec turns over close to 2 BILLION annually. Better hope he never turns up here.

Yes sir, I do realize that but when Dana got most of the funds from costa Rico into the U.S. by hiring trainers and claiming and buying overpriced horses and then putting them back into claiming races for 50% less than what he claimed them before, it just didn’t matter to him because now his money was clean and legal.  Dana helped out the harness game by losing so much the first few years with Robin Schadt as trainer that he accomplished everything he set out to do and that was to live happily ever after.  I truly believe now that his money is legal, he tries to win and hire the juice trainers to win. But Dana and Eric both are good for our game.  They spend big money and that’s a good thing.

Eric won't be around much longer.  Once Dana figures out that Eric has financially screwed all his previous trainers and partners he will cut him off too.  Go ask Robert Cooper or Croghan or Jeff Webster.  I could go on with trainers he owes massive money too.  Now he unloading Ongait shares trying to raise money to pay bills.

I don’t know Cherry but haven’t heard a lot of positive things about him but I did think he and Croghan and Webster were tight?  Are they on the outs?  What happened as they had horses together for many years it seemed

is that why they donated it to a non-profit veterans group to do 'goat yoga for veterans' but only had veterans out there once and then repurchased it for $1M... sad that place could be used for so much right now.
