According to sources at First Track Cumberland, drivers Mike Stevenson and Walter Case were also transported to the hospital.  Horses reportedly all ok, but no official word on  the health of Mike, Casey, or Garrett.

INCIDENT UPDATE:
As a follow up to our original post, the three drivers involved in today's second race accident have all been seen by medical professionals and are alert and conscious with no life threatening issues.

Several have sustained injuries, however the extent of those will not be published in this forum.

We respect their individual privacy and ask others to do the same. We will continue to keep them in our thoughts for a speedy recovery.

That's an absolute piece of dog shit thing to say. They are a human being.  Did we forget what Walter has done in his lifetime??? Believe me I'm not happy he's busted up by my means either. Prayers for all!

Why would they cancel the rest of the card?  Accidents happen.  Hope it’s nothing too serious for all.

Probably had to cancel because by rule tracks can’t race without an ambulance on the grounds.  Guessing the on-site vehicle and any available back ups were deployed to get the injured trio to care.  No ambulance=no racing.  Sorry for all the unnecessary snark in this thread.  BE KIND!

Thank you for the update.  Please ignore the haters on this site and assure your brother that many, many of us in the harness racing community care about and are concerned about his welfare.  We look forward to seeing him back in the bike!

Mike Stevenson won races with my horses on back-to-back nights at Foxboro in 1984, when he was just a kid. I shipped out the next day, after rewarding him for the victories. Nice kid, who seemed to have a promising career ahead. Haven't met up with him since. I truly hope he makes a swift and complete recovery.

You need to do your homework on him. That is all I will say.
