24 hr detention stops nothing but the shakers.  Yogurt OK….  And no detention for Shady Daisy , NJ SS or Kindergarten. Let the good times roll.

The kindergarten only has a purse of 20k.
That answers why no detention barn.

i agree its a decent card and likely the best to offer at this time
not sure what some of you fellas are expecting
not sure what some of you think is missing
yes the cane with 5 horses is sad
but this is the new reality of strong regional sires stakes weakening the grand circuit
as i have said before you cant race in them all

It has to be a day ending in Y with the same bunch complaining about The Meadowlands or Gural.

On another note, its looking like rain on Saturday possibly causing handle to be down..... Im sure they will love that!

And attendance.....un fortunately.....t he new norm for a big day of attendance for the Hambo is what? 15,000? About $7.9mm was the all in NA handle.....but I was in Trotters last year and walked outside, down the stairs, and right outside to the clubhouse outdoor seating, right on the finish line.....and I sat down and watched the race live. There were plenty of seats!!! They weren't sold out!!! Depressing. It's the new model for on-track attendance and handle. New norm.

CAWs don't care if it's raining or not.

Hambletonian Day was once rich in history with races like

The Merrie Annabelle(2yo filly trot)
Peter Houghton Memorial(2 yo colt/gelding trot)
The Mistletoe Shalee(3yo fillies)
US Pacing Championship
Nat Ray(older trotters)--very deep in history....
Heat racing-with elims then the final on the same day--you had to win 2x on the same day to win it all or they had a raceoff

while some of these still exist under a different name--its not what it once was

There were never NJSS races on this day

That is why this is the weakest Hambletonian Day card that The M1 has ever staged

91 degrees with rain plus a soccer match across the parking lot. Sure sounds enticing. ;D

If the track is at all "deep" it will most certainly hurt Karl with the rail!!

With all the money pouring in to the stakes programs in many states and now the duel eligibility in KY, there is more incentive to race in those races and only face the best in one state instead of a grand circuit race where you face the best in all of North America.

Slots is the worst thing that has ever happened to harness racing.

dual eligibility in Massachusetts too!

To get the most value, breeding operations should open a facility in one of the duel eligibility states and move all their broodmares there but keep their stallions in one of the other states. That would maximize the value of their yearlings.
