20 years ago, you raced quarter claimers at Monticello for $1,000. You raced $4K claimers at Yonkers fir $2,500. What people do is gobble up the new sausage but, never look at how the sausage is made.
Faraldo is many things, including a smart lawyer. He not only negotiated a contract for the horsemen at Yonkers that guarantees them present money for nothing but also the future for free.
He did the same shit to OTB and they took it , hook line and sinker. Now, the Horsemen of Monticello are his OTB.
Don't expect the Racing Commission to help Monti horsemen, as they signed off on the deal.
Don't expect a court case with solid contract lawyers to build a case for Monticello as NYSBOA has enough money and resources to fight a war.
The whole dam thing may just implode for all to lose out.

At some point either the media or a politician looking to make a point the fact that one person is in control of over 70 million a year state allocated VLT subsidy is controlled by one man. He's not immune to being investigated and prosecuted.

It sounds like Monticello racing is in huge trouble. Will they be the next iconic raceway from the 20th century go down the tubes? It sure sounds like it.

They race in front of a closed grandstand with no amenities whatsoever. The guy who supposedly represents them is sticking a knife in them.

  • Sweet: Click on "My Messages", if you send someone a message click the box - "Save a copy in my outbox" and that will remain in your "Sent" folder.  No "Draft" feature but you could just send yourself what yo want to save like a book.
