The PigM is becoming a joke.  Other than a couple really nice cards a year, they put out a horrible product.  Between the amateur series and $7500 claimed on weekends, what has this place become?

Always has been and will always be the best harness track that exists.
It’s awesome to see that some owners that can only afford to own 7500 claimers get a chance to race at this amazing facility.
The best, Jerry, the best !

Sadly they are still the best.  And you are entitled to your opinion on the condition sheet.  Shows the overall state of harness racing.  They get very little of my money anymore, but that goes for harness in general.  Tbreds give you way more bang for your buck!  But my heart will always be with harness racing.  Yes I am aware of how gay that sounds!  tmbz1

M1 brings a warm and fuzzy feeling from the 80s and 90s for a lot of old folks--but two days a week racing with only 6 weeks a year relevant hardly makes them "the best"

Look at the driving colony. Especially th MADC and think Settlemoir stamps them approved. Same guy who protected the Jackson's. I'm pretty sure it's about who doesn't drive there so down the road Gural can give guys shit when they come over for just the big money. I repeat. Joe DeFrank is rolling in his grave.
Now the question is, just how far do I want to go with this???

I expect they want to know who is going to be there so they can tell trainers.

They are certainly not the best anymore and really I dont know who is. I remember as a teenager and in my twenties Scioto Downs would always simulcast the big races from M1. Except for a few days a year those days are long gone there. Amateur races on almost every card and most purses 10 grand or under. This is how I remember that track as a 21 year old kid drinking an icy cold beer watching this on an old box tv under Scioto's Grandstand.

before simulcasting really existed----the state of NJ had "intra-state" simulcasting

when i first received my drivers license in 1983--i would drive to the Atlantic City race course for M1 simulcasting

after the races-the casinos were only 15 minutes away and i would play craps at The Golden Nugget all night when Steve Wynn was running the show--back then it wasnt gambling 24 hours a day-they closed at 4AM

steak and eggs around 4:15am then i drove home 40 minutes when the sun was just rising

those were the days

JT I thought I had it and I do. The Scioto program with the simulcast races. There were actually
two races. The other was $100k NJ Stake final with Hot Lead. It's marked up [the program] so not
worth shit except to me. ;D

$432k Cane from Yonkers.Riyadh 1st [two hole], Presidential Ball 2nd [post nine], Life Sign 3rd [post eleven]
Ready To Rumble 4th [post 7] Riyadh, Ready To Rumble + Presidential Ball coupled. On the Scioto card
was $27k aged Ohio Sire Stakes [Majestic Osborne - Joe Adamsky] + $10k Invite with Shady Daisy [Fout]
Only five horse field with Deadlock [Chip Noble] Cambridge [Purple Jesus] Fun to look at once in a blue moon.

That's awesome.. Deadlock was a great open pacer there. Shady Daisy was great. It's cool you still have those old programs..I have boxes of them as well. Hell we might have been watching on the same old school box tv under the grandstand. LOL. Yeah I remember they put those simulcast pages from M1 in the Scioto program. They would even drag the post at Scioto so everyone could watch M1

Hot Lead--gave George Brennan his first major stakes win and paid $5.60 to win

he raced in one or two of the winter series the M1 had--then won the M1 Pace-defeating Stout(Gelrod)

Hot Lead was trained by Brian Magie
