Johnson park out East ? Is that an animal zoo or a park ? Looked it up says it actually had a harness track back in the 70-80s. Looks like they actually had fair races or sire stakes. That must have been cool .
What some people don’t realize is that Mike was an excellent horseman we all came out of Johnson Park. Richie Johnson became his trainer at times he could be an arrogant asshole.
Absolutely! Back in the day Mike also had Auggie Schumatti working for him. Auggie took over as trainer before he went on his own and got a private gig with one of Mike's owners. Mike was an excellent horseman.
Arnold i love your name but most of all i like to see to pages of people talking the game in a manner of respect and kudos to the new management of this site as i never thought i would see two pages on this site with total respect,,,,,,,,, Great posters,,,,,,,,

We heard a Mike Gagliardi story where he owed Herve Filion 20k and had 8 bull angus steers dropped off at his farm to settle the debt . The story goes then Herve some them to Abe Stolzfus for 25!!!!
It comes up as Piscataway NJ . Showed Herve Filion actually driving there !
Auggie was a lot of fun in the barn, is he still around?
Unfortunately no, Auggie died about 10 or 12 years ago. He had a great sense of humor. Funny guy. He lost his job as a private trainer, and relocated to DE where he got a couple of horses. I am not sure but I think he might have still been dating Susan Looney (Elmer's granddaughter) at the time. He developed ALS, retired and moved to FL. He passed away while living in FL.
