Johnson park out East ? Is that an animal zoo or a park ? Looked it up says it actually had a harness track back in the 70-80s. Looks like they actually had fair races or sire stakes. That must have been cool .

What some people don’t realize is that Mike was an excellent horseman we all came out of Johnson Park. Richie Johnson became his trainer at times he could be an arrogant asshole.

Absolutely! Back in the day Mike also had Auggie Schumatti working for him. Auggie took over as trainer before he went on his own and got a private gig with one of Mike's owners. Mike was an excellent horseman.

Yes, Herve drove there, and that's where Jack Moiseyev got his early start too. They used to run NJ "Fair"/Sire Stakes there. Fun little fair track.

Unfortunately no, Auggie died about 10 or 12 years ago. He had a great sense of humor. Funny guy. He lost his job as a private trainer, and relocated to DE where he got a couple of horses. I am not sure but I think he might have still been dating Susan Looney (Elmer's granddaughter) at the time. He developed ALS, retired and moved to FL. He passed away while living in FL.
