Mohawk Saturday. 8 elimination races.

Do you bet on them and try and figure out who's trying and who's not ?
Why have 2 races with 6 horses in each. A race to eliminate one horse. How entertaining is that going to be.

I'm not positive but believe the winner gets to choose their post from 1-5 for the finals, so there is some incentive.

Elim winners actually draw for posts 2 - 6.

just a warning
they are elim races !!!
even with winners picking a post not everyone is going to gut their horse to win
so be forewarned  before some of you bet your $2 and lose and the  complain your horse got stiffed
wait and bet the finals

Not that many are competitive.  If the favorites come through the late pick five could be one of the lowest ever.  You can make a case for singling Chantilly, Twin B Joe Fresh, Highland Kismet, Swingtown, and just use Oakwood Ardan and Taurasi in the preferred.  There's barely a couple of horses you have to throw in on a cheap ticket for backup.

  • Sweet: The fact of the matter is the win pool on Beau Jangles was I believe a negative pool,  his real odds not 1/9 but 1/99.  Enough already, we're the real patrons of thius F'ing sport, many of us also care for these animals despite the best don't want drugs and whipping, abuse.  Competition yes!

  • Lockedin with Pace: Robust Hanover was a very small horse driven by William O'Donnell. In fact the late Stan Bergstein used to refer to him as the "little peanut".
